Denise Shields

Denise is a native of Arizona. She attended South Mountain High School and graduated from Ottawa University with a BA Degree in Human Resources. Later, she graduated from Grand Canyon University (GCU) with a Master’s Degree in I/O Psychology. Today, Denise works for Chicanos Por la Causa (CPLC) Inc. as Manager of Talent Acquisition, and teaches psychology at GCU.

As Manager of Talent Acquisition, Denise’s key role is to lead all aspects of recruitment strategy, delivery and performance. She serves on the board for a community based organization, Faith Rising Christian Fellowship (FRCF), a Christian ministry carrying out the mission to empower communities locally and in Mexico. She is the newest member of the Black Board of Directors Project.

Throughout her career Denise has demonstrated a passion for connecting people with purposeful job opportunities, while planning and developing programs to continually improve the workplace.

Her hobbies include cooking, writing, music (mostly all genres), inspirational speaking, and watching classic black & white movies.
